betty vernon
Betty Jean Vernon was born on November 19, 1939 in Lynch, Kentucky to Lym Vernon and Mollye Evans. When she was of age she moved to Dayton, Ohio to be near her older sister, Rosa Mae Walker. She worked for many years at the National Cash Register Corporation from where she retired. She never married. Betty later moved to San Antonio, Texas to be with her sister, Rosa Mae and her niece, Jackie Caldwell. She was a good cook, an avid reader, and she loved to travel. Betty always wanted to travel to Hawaii, she never made that trip but she is surely in a better place now. Above all, she loved her church, the bible, and Jesus. During her last days, she made a reaffirmation of her commitment to Jesus. Absent from the body, present with the Lord. On February 1, 2021 Ms. Vernon went home to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents Lym Vernon and Mollye Evans, her brother, Billy Evans, her sister, Rosa Mae Walker, and her nephew, John Edward Walker. She is survived by her brother Anderson Evans (Eva), her nephew, John Walker (Pearl) niece, Jackie Caldwell (Ted), niece, Sonya McGee, nephew, Dwane Walker, nephew, Anthony Walker, niece Rose Walker, and great nieces and nephews.

  1. Thank you, Jackie and Ted. It’s nice as well as comforting to know she passed into that great twilight with family close by. With familiar faces. Rest in peace.
