Dolores Joan Cox

Dolores Joan Cox of San Antonio Texas passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on Thursday, November 28, 2019. Joan was born January 24, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to Daniel Jack Davis and Marian Louise Schlick. Joan was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by her daughters, Renee Garza (Roberto) and Alyson Kourvelas (Andrew); sisters Linda Brown (Billy) and Dana Kay Zuniga; lifelong companion and friend, George Dillon; grandchildren, Travis Adame (Kimberly), Brittney Adame and Gage Martinez (Kayla); and great grandchildren, Payson, Greyson and Cheyenne. She is preceded in death by her sister Betty Sue Mercier; brother in law, Willard Mercier; mother, Marian Louise Schlick; and father, Daniel Jack Davis. She was full of life and enjoyed vacationing at the beach, taking long road trips, traveling, collecting bird feathers, playing solitaire, playing slot machines and just relaxing with a glass of Zinfandel. She worked predominately in optometry and also worked in sales at Dillard’s. Joan will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
