Harry E. Daniels

Harry Daniels was born November 2, 1928 to Harry E. and Catherine M. Prior Daniels in Rockford, Illinois. Harry attended the public schools in Rockford and graduated from West Rockford High School in 1946. Following high school he joined the U.S. Air force from 1948-1952. He served as an Airborne Radio Operator in Germany, participating in the Berlin Airlift. He also served as Senior Intercept Operator for U.S. Air Force Security Service. After serving his country he worked in sheet metal construction for several years before joining Prudential Insurance for the next twenty five years. During this interim he married Diana Johnson-Hess on December 27, 1977. Upon retirement they moved to Voyager Village, Wisconsin and spent the winter seasons traveling in their motor home throughout the United States and subsequently settled at Fort Clark Springs in Brackettville, Texas. Harry enjoyed most sports with golf being one of his favorites and was able to accomplish three holes in one. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Harriet A. Preston and step-daughter, Kelly M. Hess. He is survived by his wife, Diana Daniels; daughters, Jill Daniels and Jennifer Daniels-LaBonte; step children, Michael Hess and Sheir Hess-Holt; granchildren, Virginia Braun, Arielle and Julianna Hess and Samantha and Matthew Holt.
