Jacqueline Figueroa Gallaway

jacqueline gallaway
Jacqueline Figueroa Gallaway was blessed with angel wings on Sunday, June 7, 2015 peacefully in her sleep. Jackie was born on June 25, 1965 in Boston, Massachusetts. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas, a spirited Lady Cougarette in pep squad, dance team and girl's basketball for South San High School West Campus. Jackie served 17 years as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and rose to the rank of lieutenant. She later settled in Trinity, Texas with her children Brittany, Ricky and Ashley Gallaway and grandchildren Braylee, Casen, Avery and Colton. Jackie was known for many things including her quick wit, fun personality and sense of humor, her infectious laughter, her impeccable work ethic, her zeal for life and her love of being surrounded by family and friends. Beautiful inside and out, she was a stranger to none and a friend to all. Jackie is survived by her loving parents Ricardo and Rosa Figueroa, sisters Wanda Wark, Mildred F. Rodriguez, Miriam Figueroa, Vivian Whitlow and her husband Lane, brother Fred Figueroa and his wife Teri, three children, and four grandchildren. Further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and numerous friends. Her memory will fill many with the incredible joy she felt for life. Jackie would have insisted that the occasion of her passing be used to remember and celebrate her life. Although it seems short to many, those who were touched by her know it was a life lived to the absolute fullest.
