Jessilynn Althea Pittman

- THE SERVANT CARETAKER Jessilynn Althea Harvey was born on October 4, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas. Loved and raised by Mr. Floyd McHenry, Sr. and Mrs. Pearline (Allen) McHenry. She was No. 6 of their 12 children. Jessilynn (Lynn) graduated a Sam Houston Cherokee in 1972. She went on to earn her Certified Nurses Assistant credentials. She worked for the State Hospital, as well as the State Group Homes where she cared for handi-capable and mentally challenged adults. Lynn was an energetic young woman. Friendly and outgoing, the original party animal! Very creative fashion designer. She shopped for ideas, drew patterns on newspaper, and turned it into fashion statements to rival Tommy Hilfiger. Her life-long hobbies were Bingo, Slot Machines, and the Lottery. In 1981, she served our country in the U.S. Army and remained active until she took ill. Diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkins disease, she was then, honorably discharged. During her transition, Sis. Peggy Runnels lead Lynn to the Lord in 1982 at Greater Lincoln Park Temple (GLPT). There she was baptized and received the Holy Spirit. Her name was written in the Lambs Book of Life. God immediately began to demonstrate His Love and Power in her life. In 1983, God miraculously and permanently healed her of the cancer. God did great acts of healing throughout Lynns life even until the day He took her home. God went on to use Lynn mightily, as she prayed for others healing, lead many to the Lord, and counseled others in the Word as she grew. She immediately joined the Usher Board where she served faithfully in the GLPT ministry and then joined Lively Stone International Christian Church, under the pastorate of Bishop Ronald Smith until she was no longer able to serve. She served the Lord and His purpose with all the energy and commitment she had before her salvation. The LORD gave her gifts of Helps, Intercession, Evangelism, Giving, and Laying on of Hands. God could trust her for His Glory! Throughout her life, there was a common thread - Caretaker. She cared for her patients, family, and friends. She cared for a host of aging uncles and aunts. In James 1:27, James describes what God accepts as pure and faultless religion…to look after the Orphans and Widows in distress… Before our Dad went to be with the Lord, he charged her to take care of your mother, to which she remained steadfast and un-movable until Mom went to be with Lord in 2015, over 30 years of selfless service. Lynn did not have children of her own; however, God blessed this remarkable woman to raise three beautiful children - Destiney McHenry, Curtis McHenry, and Lowell McHenry, Jr. (JR). God set the stage of Lynns life and gave her humble grace to finish her race. Now when Jessilynn A. Pittman had served Gods purpose in her generation, she fell asleep. Preceded in death by her parents, Floyd McHenry, Sr., and Pearline McHenry, and Sister Eunice Green, and 5 beloved nieces/nephews. Cherishingly remembered by her remaining Siblings: Jackie Henson, Sandra Harvey, Evelyn Daniels, Billie Harvey, Floydell Jackson, Faydell Pair, Floyd McHenry Jr., Lloyd McHenry, Laticia McHenry-Jones, and Lowell McHenry. Nephews/Nieces: Arthur Green, Phillip Brown, Renae Brintley, Denise Harris, Allen Brown, Nelson Kinchen, Larry Thompson, Destiney McHenry, Jackie Jackson, Johnny Jackson, Whitney Jackson, Collier Jones, II, Shikinah Jones, Dominick, Sr., Curtis, Lorielle, and Lowell McHenry, Jr. Grand Nephews/Nieces: DeShaun , Sean, KeVon Brintley, Kamry and Karrington Henson, Tommisha, Jakayla, JaKoiya, and Terriel Jackson, Serena Carrington, Mimi, Jocelyn, Treshawn, and Tra'shawnna Thompson, Kayla Hammons, (Four darling Kinchens), Dontae, Trae Jackson, Donyeal McHenry, Cecelia (CC), Dominick, Jr., and Maleah McHenry, Shy Harris, , Ezekiel Anthony Jones, and Samara Marie Faith Moffett.
