Josephine Feuerbacher passed away at the age of 91 on May 6, 2021, in San Antonio. She was born to Dock Walton and Emily Altizer on January 17, 1930, in Dallas, Texas. In 1948, Josephine married Alvin Feuerbacher, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage. They moved from Dallas to San Antonio in 1964, where they raised 5 sons. Jo and Alvin founded and operated Fiesta Travel in Alamo Heights from 1978 until closing the business and retiring in 1999. Jo was a woman of many interests and enjoyed traveling, photography, gardening, cooking, and visiting with her children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and knitted beautiful clothing and accessories for family, friends and patients at cancer and dialysis clinics. Active in both Dallas and San Antonio churches, Josephine volunteered her time and energy for most of her life. More than anything, she loved spending time with her loving family. Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin and her son, Mitchell, who both passed away in 2013, as well as her daughter-in-law Billie and her grandson, Karl, who both passed away in 2020. Survivors include four sons: in Creede, Colorado, Alan, and in San Antonio, Tom and wife Kristin, Dwayne and wife Shawna, and Paul and partner Amy Pletz. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Jason Feuerbacher and wife Catherine, Dr. Sarah Feuerbacher and husband Jon, Travis Feuerbacher and wife Mandy, Jacqueline Ferrero-Williams and husband Gale, Abra Schnur and husband George, Elise Varnell and husband Jeff, Dr. Haley Kroboth and husband John, Aissa Vallecillo, Dylan Feuerbacher, Megan Feuerbacher, and Hannah Feuerbacher. Her nine great-grandchildren are Christian, Taylor, Ruby, Michael, Loretta, Walton, Zoe, Josiah and Ashton. Other survivors are her sisters Texan Beaman of Avery and Emily Shanks of Richardson and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Shirley and Lonnie Chesney of Dallas, and Priscilla and Chuck Feuerbacher of Austin, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
