Joye LaNette Henley Stout passed away on Thursday April 4, 2019 at Methodist Texsan Hospital in San Antonio Texas. Joye was born on December 15,1940 to James Floyd Henley and Helen Earl Henley, and was the youngest of 3 children. She was a graduate of Fort Stockton High School. She married the love of her life Joe Emmett Stout on June 5, 1959. They had 5 children who were her pride and joy. She was an amazing seamstress and made most of her children ‘s clothes when they were young. Joye was a homemaker until 1977, when she went to Nursing school. She graduated on March 24,1978, and was a nurse for over 20 years. Nursing was her true calling and passion as she loved working with and helping people. Joye was the essence of a true caregiver. Joye was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Floyd Maurice(Gigg) Henley, and husband Joe E. Stout Sr. She is survived by her brother; Jack Hill Henley of Austin Tx, her children ;Lesa Tavarez & husband Rick, Leslie Elliott & husband Clinton of Fort Stockton Joe Stout Jr. of Blooming Grove Tx., Justin Stout & wife Marti of San Antonio Tx., Laural Ellis & husband John of Copeland Tx., 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on April 27,2019 at Northside Church in Fort Stockton Tx, at 11 o'clock a.m.

  1. I remember visiting Joye in her home some years ago as she was serving her church by “grading” some Bible study papers. I was inspired by that visit in knowing that she and I were sisters in the Lord. Much grace for Joye’s children.

She was my cousin.they were my cousins.I remember going and staying with them alot.and every great once in awhile they would come here to monahans.i thought I was so cool Their dad had a band .and a few times got to go with them to fort Davis even once.I loved that they had a big family I thought that was so great never a dull minute.lol.and you know what.we were country and just being able to get together at the flats have a goat bbq was everything .everyone loved each other and Joe and johnny played.and had our own little private dance .I love that I growed up with them and every little thing was the greatest ever.you know I thought fortstockton was so many miles away then.and it meant the most just to get to see everyone.its only a hour.and now I go alot.i love all you cousins of mine.and I’m so glad when growing up we did it together.yall are all in my prayers .love y’all bunches.cher.
