Robert "Bobby" King

Bobby Eugene King was born to Sydney King and Eugene Skinner on June 6, 1942. He attended area schools through his formative years on the West side of San Antonio. Once he was of legal age, Bobby enlisted in the U. S. Navy. Shortly thereafter, he married Catherine Ann Davis (Brown). To this union four children were born – Bobby Jr., Carl Anthony, Terrel Lynn, and Tonia Denise. Bobby would later go on to have another daughter with Faye Banks (Dukes) – Michelle Antoinette and after relocating to California fathered a son – Jared. After his time in the Navy, Bobby spent the next several decades as a long haul truck driver. Being on the road allowed much time for self-reflection and revelation. With a renewed outlook, Bobby officially changed his name to Robert. Robert ended his career by retiring back in Texas from Holt Cat after more than a decade of service. Robert’s father Sydney King; siblings Clem Strait, Billy Ray Anderson, and Michael Skinner; son Terrel King; and grandson Daryl Gentry Jr. preceded him in death. He leaves to honor his memory his mother Eugene Skinner; sister Gwendolyn Trahan; children Bobby King Jr., Carl King, Tonia King Gentry, Michelle Banks Brock, and Jared King; grandchildren Misty King Palmer, Amber King, Brianna King, Jericha Brock, and Jasmyn Brock; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
