Robert Pug Toolate was born October 16, 1948 and passed away May 9, 2018 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Buster Toolate and his brother, Marvin Toolate. Robert is survived by his mother, Mabel Toolate, brother Johnny Toolate, his spouse Charlotte Toolate, daughters Dennye Ross and Jennifer Johnston, and a host of loving family and friends.
Robert graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1967 and attended Bacone College on a baseball scholarship before entering military service in 1969. He survived the Vietnam War, received a Purple Heart medal, and was honorably discharged in 1976.
Robert played minor league baseball, but his career ended after he sustained an injury. At this time, he started driving trucks, and did so until his death. Robert and his wife Charlotte drove for TLD Logistics as a team for over 11 years.
In his spare time, Robert enjoyed playing golf, watching college football, and spending time with his family.
