Sonia C. Irizarry went to be with the Lord January 14, 2021. She was born June 27, 1971 in San Antonio, Texas to Rudy and Altagracia Gutierrez. Sonia was known as a very loving and sweet person. She was very outgoing and she could hold a conversation with everyone. Sonia graduated and attained her master’s degree from the University of the Incarnate Word. She would do anything for her friends and deeply adored her family. Sonia had a strong faith which was what kept her looking forward. Left to cherish her memory are her parents; beloved husband, Rufino Irizarry; children, Jonathan A. (Ashley) Flores and Nicolas A. Flores; step-children, Laura M. Burrus and Scott S. Najera; grandchildren, Logan Burrus and Aubrey Flores; siblings, Elizabeth Gutierrez; extended family and close friends.

  9. I remember the day she was born. Her mom Alta was a little concerned about Sonia’s little toe. When I finally got to look a her toes I just laughed. Alta that my toe and grandma Rosie’s toe. We are truly related. In early December I called Sonia, asked for her address, she needed to see a baby book that was over 70 years old this belonged to her father Rudy. She never told me she was ill, but I knew. There were other memories I shared with her. Sonia did a Great job living. My condolences from my family to your family. May we meet at the river.
